Problem: J.D. Edwards makes enterprise software that competes with PeopleSoft and Oracle, but is far less well known than it's two primary competitors. The primary differentiating point between them is service. J.D. Edwards is known for providing an excellent customer experience. The company had recently adopted a new tagline (you > us) to go with its overhauled logo, all in an effort to re-brand itself as a company centered on customer service. I was hired to extend that concept through the corporate identity system.

Solution: In addition to designing both an online and offline version of the corporate brandbook, complete with detailed corporate standards and templates for print and television communications, I redesigned the letterhead, envelopes, and business cards, all carrying the message of "you > us".

The business cards were printed in sets of four and randomly shuffled so that each one had one of four different "greater than" equations on the back. Each equation spoke to some quality of how J.D. Edwards does business
